The Compassionate Friends

The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive.  International organization with local chapters, 18 in Kansas.  For chapter referral information, call the TCF National Office toll-free at 877-969-0010.

 

Good Grief of Kansas

Good Grief of Kansas is a self help non-profit organization providing local support services to bereaved men and women in Wichita, Kansas and throughout the surrounding area. Good Grief of Kansas serves bereaved individuals through self-help support groups, social activities, and other services, thereby encouraging bereaved individuals to learn to deal with living without their loved one. Bereaved individuals result because of a death of a family member or close friend and seek help during the bereavement period.

Support groups and special events for bereaved persons are held weekly throughout the Wichita Metro area.  All services are free and open to any adult who is grieving.

GriefShare

GriefShare is designed to help you successfully travel the journey from mourning to joy. You are welcome to begin attending the GriefShare group at any session. Each is "self-contained," so you do not have to attend in sequence. You will find encouragement and help whenever you begin. Our group will meet in the Office Reception Area. The group will meet continuously and not have and end date.

Parents of Murdered Children

Parents of Murdered Children provides the on-going emotional support needed to help parents and other survivors facilitate the reconstruction of a "new life" and to promote a healthy resolution. Not only does POMC help survivors deal with their acute grief but also helps with the criminal justice system.

Three Trees

Children ages 3 to 18 and their adult caregivers meet in welcoming, age-appropriate rooms that provide a safe and healing environment for families grieving the death of a loved one.  In these rooms, children and teens may participate in a variety of play, creative arts and verbal therapy techniques.  Adult caregivers attend a support group at the same time as their children.
