Terese Johnson of Broadway Mortuary, Wichita, KS has been awarded the Certified Preplanning Consultant (CPC) designation. Certified Preplanning Consultants must pass an examination and are required to apply for recertification every four years.
"The CPC designation means that families who are planning funeral services in advance are receiving the highest quality of customer service care," according to Colleen Murphy Klein, who manages the program for the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), the leading funeral service association, serving more than 21,400 individual members who represent 12,486 funeral homes in the United States and other countries.
"Those who have earned the CPC designation are uniquely qualified to help families plan appropriate and sensitive services and to deal with funding and consumer service and protection issues," she added.
The Certified Preplanning Consultant program was established in 1996 as the national standard of excellence in preplanning in response to consumer demands for greater information about preplanning and prefunding funerals.
