James Russell Post, 69, passed from this life on November 11, 2018 at his home. His Celebration of Life will be November 17, 2018 at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway, Wichita, KS. Mr. Post was born on October 20, 1949 in Topeka, KS to William and Josephine Post. During his high school career he lettered in wrestling, graduating from South High in 1967. After graduation Jim joined the United States Navy in February 1969, his last assigned duty was on the USS Enterprise. He then transferred to the US Naval Reserve in Bainbridge, Maryland until 1973. He received a National Defense Service Medal for his duty and was honorably discharged. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, graduating Cum Laude from WSU in 1976. Kansas Board of Accountancy; CPA, 1986. Accredited Asset Management Specialist; College for Financial Planning, 2005. Mr. Post started the final leg of his career as an Edward Jones Financial Advisor in 2000, retiring September 2015. During his tenure with Edward Jones what he enjoyed most was getting to know his clients some of whom became lifelong friends. A few of his activities that he was most passionate about were playing golf and bowling. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Redpath. Survivors include his wife, Roy Ann Post; children Zachary Post, Ann Warterfield (John), and Rodney Dowell, Jr. (Tanya); grandchildren, Carter, Lauren, Olivia, and Roy Walker; brothers, Harry Post (Pam) and Richard Post (Enna); several nieces and nephews.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wounded Warriors Project.
