I met Jon at the Wichita Beer Tasting club - Hops Club. Jon was a good story teller and always had interesting things to say. My husband and I raised a toast to him tonight. He talked often of family and friends and we know he will be missed terribly. Please accept our condolences. We are very sad to hear of his passing.
Regards,
Vicki Daniel

I cannot tell you how much I have missed Jon since the accident. We've been pottery buddies for many years. The first thing he'd do, upon entering the studio, was turn on music. We had some wonderful -- and lively -- political discussions. He was a dear friend and I'll never forget him.

I met Jon his first year teaching at Haverhill school. I thought it was great that he took his kids fishing at a nearby creek. Such energy and interest in teaching children something fun that could last a lifetime. I ran into Jon from time to time at Crowson's jam sessions at Watermark Books and at Wichita Audubon Society. It was always a treat to see him. Bev DuGay

I am saddened to hear of Jon's passing. I knew him as an acoustic music fan and supporter, from his beautiful flower posts on FaceBook, and his wonderful pottery. We would greet each other on FB with a new flower post in the morning. I often saw him at the Farmer's Market in his booth while I was working Master Gardener functions there. He was always smiling, always upbeat. I am so glad that I have several pieces of Jon's work in my home. He will be greatly missed.

Dearest Julia,
I was so sorry to read about your husband. Please know we are thinking about you and hope your family and friends and your memories will sustain you. I can't imagine how hard this must be. As soon as I asked Jason if he remembered you, he went right to the small photo album that you made for him. It's been many years but you are a wonderful person and we are so sorry for your loss.

Nikki, John and Jason Shirley
