Judy (Hodges) HoytOctober 6, 1946 ~ June 17, 2018 (age 71)
Judy Hodges Hoyt passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer. Judy was born in Wichita, Kansas on October 6, 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband of seven years, Mel Hoyt, and by her parents, Art and Barbara Hodges. Judy is survived by her sisters, Jan (Carl) Craddock of Charlotte, N.C., and Jill Hodges of Murphreesboro, TN. She is also survived by her children, Laurie (Guinn) Walker, Jenny (Donn) Armstrong, John (Elissa) Knolla, all of Wichita, Kansas, and Tim (Susan) Knolla of Saint John, New Brunswick. In addition, Judy is survived by fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her kitties, Rosie and Winnie. Judy graduated from Southeast High School in 1964, and attended Wichita State University. Beyond her greatest accomplishment of raising four amazing children, she was co-founder of Knolla’s Pizza, a well known local restaurant in Wichita. Prior to her retirement in 2015, she was recognized as one of the top national recruiters for PDS, Inc. Judy was Mom to many more children than the four she raised. She was a bibliophile, a lover of all things cats, and had an encyclopedic knowledge of, and passion for English history, culture and tradition. She truly treasured her trip to London and the opportunity to experience those things in person. Her family and friends will remember and deeply miss her sense of humor and ability to converse on virtually any topic. Family Visitation, 6-8 pm, Thursday, June 21, at Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S.
