I remember the days when my dad would come home from work exhausted about 1:30 am in the morning. He would wake me up and we would travel from Wichita to Marion County and we would fish when the sun was coming up at Marion reservoir. One of the memory's I had was at Cheney reservoir one morning when we caught so many White Bass that we could not lift the rope stringer out of the water to take them home for it was so heavy. We caught fish from sun up till about 2 hours later, then they just stopped biting. When people started arriving at the lake about 8:00 am to fish they did not catch anything for we had caught them all. When we finally was able to lift the stringer out of the water, the people could not believe we had so many fish. I think the best memory's I had with my dad was sharing Christ with him. He had strayed so far from the Lord during his life, but his battle with cancer made him ponder about the life after when he found out his cancer was terminal. My dad did not want no doctors, no pain medication, and no hospice to comfort him, all he wanted was Jesus to bring him home in the middle of the night when he was sleeping. My dads prayers were finally answered. Don't ever give up on your lost loved ones, they are closer to God that you really think they are...One of the last things my dad said to me before he passed away was, " I will see you on the other side "....
