Courtney and family. Sorry for your loss. Spent many a night chasing the ladies at the Cowboy with your dad in the late 80s. Was not a shock when we figured out I knew you from KSU days. He was a great guy.

We are so sorry for your loss. Your dad was a great guy to work with and play golf with. Bob and I and Don & Donny used to ride up together to KC to watch you play. He was very proud of you. I remember one time we were coming up there to a game and we were explaining to him how a card game was played because we were going to the casinos Saturday night before the game on Sunday. As we were explaining the rules to him he kept saying "I just don't see how you could win at this game." When we got there he watched us play a few hands and went to find an open table so he could give it a try. He came back about 45 minutes later and said "I like this game! I just won $400." Then he went to play some more and won another $300. He said "Thanks for teaching me how to play and I'm buying breakfast tomorrow." He told me later he bought a self propelled walking golf cart with the money. But he said "Don't tell my wife cause she doesn't know I won that money." I think he said he kept the cart in the trunk of his car so she wouldn't see it. He was a character alright and a GREAT friend. We flew together a few times too and he really loved to fly. He told me if you played in another Super Bowl, we were going to rent a plane and fly ourselves to the game to watch you. We would take turns being pilot in command. He loved flying. I played my best game of golf with your dad and had him sign my scorecard as a witness. I still have it. Sorry for the long posting but your dad was too great of a guy for just a few words. And again, we are truly sorry for your loss and will miss Bob very much.

I was able to get to know Bob in 1997 when he was practicing golf in the field next to the apartments I lived while walking my dog. He would even mow it to help maintain his practice area. I knew he was really good but it was special to play golf with him with the Boeing Retiree League. He was a special person

Bob has been a friend to me since we met at The Lords Diner some years ago. Found out we both enjoyed golf so we started playing frequently. Although I was over ten years younger I rarely beat him in golf. even when I had my A game. We enjoyed many outings of golf together. He will be missed as my golfing buddy but more as a close friend.

Bob was a very enjoyable man to be around. When I was paired up with him at the golf course he would hit that little white ball farther and straighter than me. He was 5 years older and made it look so easy. He would just smile and go on down the course. I did not know him well but knew he was well liked by all who had met him.

So sorry to hear of Bob's death. I first met Bob while at a dance at the Cotillion in Wichita. We shared a table as strangers but became friends. I was impressed that he and his wife danced so well. Years later, I joined the Boeing golf group and was surprised and pleased to see Bob there as a member. He immediately asked me if we were still dancing so he had a good memory. He was a heck of an athlete and continued to play great golf as he battled cancer. He was a very special person and will be missed.

To Rhonda and family,
What a beautiful tribute to your father and grandfather. Wish I could have met him! What a fascinating man and role model for many. My father too shared experiences in management at Boeing. Rhonda, sometime soon we need to visit about some common experiences.

Sending thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

Rhonda, since I have known you for so many years, although it's been some time since I have seen your Dad, I used to see him briefly from time to time. However, I always felt like I knew him through you and one thing that always stood out was how he truly "lived" life and I would actually stop and think about it when I would hear about what he was or had been doing. He definitely touched my life in that way. I know you will certainly miss him. Hugs to you and all your family.

I pray for comfort for the family. A special memory from my childhood, was Bob leading a rhythmic story, "Goin' on a lion hunt!" at a family gathering.
